It's highly recommended if you want a good quality product. I work on the bed and the swamp cooler in my room cannot reach to where I usually lie flat. No other fan cools the air down like this one. My mother in law borrowed it to help with hot flashes she gets due to medication.
I spent a ton of money on small personal fans, all endorsed or made by major retailers like Coleman, Brookstone, Target and many more. I should have invested in this product first. A good buy! I got this for myself. I tested indoors and it worked okay (not great). Outdoors, it does not do squat! (I hate fiddly gadgets with all these annoying little parts). The handy cooler is odorless and gives out a very low buzz so it doesn't disturb me when I work. I had to get this when it was backordered 3 weeks but it was worth the wait. When you turn it on, it has a low humming sound which is a nice white noise and it does a good job of cooling the air.
The battery lasted a good 2 days before I have to replace them. You need to take the filter out and refill out but I find it easier to pour water directly onto the filter even with the lid on (the lid has a lot of holes to breathe). I was pleasantly surprised that it does still cool the air noticeably even with RH around 70-85%, and the USB cable means that I can keep it running non-stop while I'm working on the PC. I'm very happy with the purchase overall.
They all say they have the same benefits, but this one actually has the real one and a one year warranty. The knockoffs are cheaper but I'm slightly skeptical about their quality and didn't want to buy that with the potential it might not work. This handy cooler cannot cool down the whole room but it's perfect for cooling you down personally. It's been a real life saver this summer when I was doing some repair work in my yard. I didn't have a thermometer to measure the temperature difference, but the air sure does feel cooler. It's amazing that it actually works!
During delivery I used it constantly and it was so easy to keep charged through the USB cable. It was a lifesaver! Like most offices, the temperature goes up and down and this is like a personal thermostat. It's on the expensive side for a USB fan so treat it as a luxury item for the geeks.
If you decide to use batteries you will find that the fan will only work at maximum capacity for about 15 minutes before your batteries start to drain and there is no longer that strong power that was originally there. Batteries are expensive when you're burning up 4 every 30 minutes to simply keep your fan going at an acceptable rate.

I did not understand it had a remote control till I opened this area. For those who have a small house I'm certain it might work fine. window air conditioner installation. The compressor is hardly noticeable. Rather, I let it sit and allow it to acclimate by itself to its new home. window air conditioner installation.
