Tips and Tricks for Eliminating Your Acne Woes

By Michelle Hollis

Acne is not something that anybody looks forward to experiencing. Most people try to hide the acne that they suffer from. Dealing with breakouts is something that most of us hope that we will grow out of in time. Unfortunately, not practicing proper skin care means that your teenage acne will never fully go away. Whether or not you want to believe it, the fact is that there are adults well into their thirties, forties and even later who experience acne so severe it rivals that of teenage acne. Here are some ways to help you keep the acne from invading. If you want to keep acne away, keep reading!

Before you do anything else, you need to find a good cleanser. A good face cleaner will definitely be oil free, but that is not the one criteria you need to use when searching for your facial cleanser. Salicylic acid is one. People who have to deal with really bad acne will use the salicylic acid content as their primary search criteria. It is also applied to "regular" cleansers though in smaller quantities that is intended to just be strong enough to eliminate bacteria and clean over your skin pores.

Salicylic acid should not be used regularly when you get older and your skin has gotten thinner and more sensitive. If you wear makeup regularly try switching brands to something lighter or simply wearing less of it each day. Many bases/foundations are now enhanced with sunscreen which means that you do not need to apply both products. You might even choose makeup that is made with minerals included so that the products help your skin instead of simply clogging it. Just because one brand costs less than the others does not mean that that is the brand you should choose. You don't want to put on too much makeup. You want to wear very little to no makeup. Don't freak out, you'll still be beautiful if you cut back on the makeup that you slather on! This is also important: do not go to bed with makeup still on your face. Leaving your makeup on while you sleep is one of the best ways to give yourself acne.

Take care to protect your skin against the sun's rays. Lathering on a heavy layer of sunscreen might not seem like a good idea if you are concentrating on keeping your pores unclogged. There are plenty of oil-free sunscreen alternatives out there.

Protecting your skin no longer means spreading heavy layers of cream all over it. Instead of forcing yourself to choose between heavy lotions, now you can choose light lotions or sprays to protect your skin. Struggling with the sunlight is simpler than ever now since you make-up and cream possibly currently features SPF products in it. An important fact to keep in mind is that tanning does not prevent you from getting zits; it only helps you get skin cancer.

You have plenty of options available for cleaning your skin and fighting acne. You might be able to get by with only washing your face a couple of times each day. Other people need a more involved routine some prefer to keep acne away with a healthy lifestyle. Your acne cure will be specific to you and your skin so doesn't be afraid to try new things. The concept powering pimple battling it to attempt any pimple battling way for some time earlier than moving forward.

No acne fighting method will work overnight--you need to give each method you try at least a few weeks to start having an effect on your skin before moving on to the next solution. The best way to deal with acne is to visit Smootherface.com; it provides better tips and strategies to be use.
