By Reginald Klamert

From cars to bridges, from old pirate ships to Super Star Destroyers, there's a brandname close to our childhood hearts that we all appreciate dearly, and that's Lego.

All of it began 1934, when the Danish born Ole Kirk Christiansen created the Lego Group in his very ownworkshop. He was a carpenter during the time, but he contributed a strong passion for invention and toys. Motivated by fascination, quality and (of course) innovation, young Ole made a high risk investment in 1947 and bought expensive modern machineries which saw him successfully create his initial plastic injected products.

This created opportunities in 1949, and the Lego Group had its 2nd substantial breakthrough, it innovated a legend in its own right, their unique 'Automatic Binding Bricks.' While partially different from the much loved Lego blocks of today, this improvement at the time made means for what's get to be the modern Lego.

The Lego group extended its changes on the Automatic Binding Bricks, and in 1964, the LEGO name was officially authorized by the company as a brand. At that time, vivid plastic blocks with greatly building possibilities became a significant design innovation. It absolutely was a smart system that fostered creativity, and Lego overall displayed quality in the toys market that saw it pioneer a fresh marketplace for plastic toys which dominated the wooden toys market (which at the time saw great demands for).

Through the 1960s, LEGO had become an international company, having its products being loved and bought by many house holds, and by the 1970s, LEGO goods were sold in more than 42 nations around the globe. LEGO also opened a childrens playground in Denmark which attracted more than half a million visitors in its 1st year, and developing into the 1970s, LEGO widened into deep catagories, giving different varieties of building products for young kids, pre-schoolers and also adult enthusiasts. Its onwards success was extended by the business in to the 80's and 90's with expansions into video games, education, mail order catalogs, the start of the official Lego website and the company's own experiential shops around the world.

During the 1990's, the company took some strategic improvements that boosted dividends. In 1999, Lego create their products and services and began using certified manufacturers to design. Star Wars, their first registered introduction was a massive success for the business. Ever since then, Lego has combined directly with popular brands that could see Spongebob Legos, Batman Legos, Harry Potter Legos, Indiana Jones Legos, Spiderman Legos, Toy Story Legos, and additional arrive at life.

Today, LEGO stands as a brand that shows quality and intrinsic characteristics. It has stood in the toys marketplace as a innovator and leader since its trademark creation in 1964. Right now these days, you can find very few childrens toys that provide this type of unique experience - that being the opportunity to build and construct, to educate and learn, in an endless array of stories and categorizations, all in an exciting building system of its own like no other.
