What does it take to be happy? What is the easiest way can one get on the pathway to happiness? These are some of the questions that author Carol Bettino addressed when she was interviewed on L.A. Talk Radio about her latest book, "Directions: Your Roadmap to Happiness." with hosts Allen Cardoza and Dr. Melody Foxx, from Answers for the Family.
A Happiness Specialist
Bettino has undoubtedly spent many years considering the difficulty of finding happiness. She has been a licensed psychotherapist for over 20 years with her own family practice in Prescott, Arizona. And she is also a part-time teacher at Yavapai Community College.
Prior to writing her current book, she authored, "Better Choices, Better Life." She has also hosted two radio shows, KFNX 1100AM and KQNA 1130AM, as well as facilitated plenty of conventions on mental health and well being in the Phoenix and Prescott areas.
Setting Goals to Be Happy
For those who choose to influence their own futures, she suggested striving for important work and finding out ways to overcome difficulties. When something hinders your progress, continue with caution, but do not stop trying.
Rising above Obstacles
She commented that one reason why people fall short of reaching their targets and attain success is the bumps on their journey. But with a slight change in perspective, hurdles can simply present more data to show you the place you will need to go. While we simply cannot always rework obstacles that halt our progress, we are always free to simply regulate our views while still confirming our feelings. Adjusting perspectives may assist us in overcoming our setbacks.
Buck up
Bettino also spelled out a formula for a happy relationship based on an acronym, the word HEART, where "H" stands for "honesty," "E" for "equality," "A" for "accountability," "R" for "respect," and "T" for "trust." These are the six essential qualities necessary for effective and loving communication in a relationship.
Conclusion
The essence of Bettino's message is that it is essential to your happiness and success that you don't let anybody or anything stands in your way when it comes to living out your dreams. Don't let something crucial to your success in life slip away, she counseled.
