I have brought 3 fans so far because my 1st one has some trouble with the blade rotating, the flow of air goes on and off, I think this is caused by the power adapter for the wall outlet. You should stick with batteries or the USB adapter.
But, I've had it long enough to know I'm going to order another. This fan may be a little pricey considering that you can pick up a fan nowadays for a much cheaper price...but I have got to say...this little gadget here is great!
Ordered two of these since my family was traveling where temperatures were going to average 95 degrees. One of the units did not work upon receipt, but the seller quickly sent a replacement ASAP within 24 hours, just in time for the trip!
I got the fan; it worked for two hours, and then broke. Seller agreed to send me a replacement AND a refund if I agreed to retract my negative review. My hot flashes come on about every 45 minutes, 24/7. I have been told by my doctors this can be expected for the next three years. I purchased this product with somewhat uncertain expectations because I live in Singapore where the humidity is relatively high. The product documentation suggests that this product works well in countries with low humidity. First how it works...there is a sponge-like component you are to soak with a few mm of water. Here's my first negative: They give you NOTHING to measure this amount with but the warning that if you overfill it could damage the fan. My symptoms have not progressed, but if they do I will begin HRT. I'm not going to go into the risks here.
I think I made a few sales. Within 20 minutes I had wrung out my headband and stashed it away for the last time that day. A lower-cost USPS shipping option would be welcome, and yes, I use NiMH rechargeable batteries, and they last for hours on a charge. I'm in the Navy, therefore I sleep in a tiny, tiny, often hot space with no air circulation. Like so many products today, it is made to look nice but not to last. Don't waste your money. I had to replace the batteries twice though. The Handy Cooler is nice to have and definitely better than nothing, better than a hand-held fan, and better than a water spray bottle with a fan. This fan moves a good amount of air if placed around 4 inches from the hit. It is more of a desk fan for me, rather than one that I carry around although it was made for portable use.
Upfront, this product wasn't cheap, so I had hesitations with buying it at first. After checking out their website and reviews, I decided to give it a shot and have to say am glad that I bought it.
Again, totally inoperative after two hours. This one went into the trash bin.
