Fan suddenly slows down or stops completely with no warning. It's about the size of a small book. We put it in the baby's stroller or in her bike trailer.
This is an excellent fan to take camping. It really makes the air cooler using water. A lower-cost USPS shipping option would be welcome, and yes, I use NiMH rechargeable batteries, and they last for hours on a charge. I'm in the Navy, therefore I sleep in a tiny, tiny, often hot space with no air circulation. My boys have been playing sports for over 5 years and we are always looking for something to help with the heat. I live in South Florida so heat and humidity is pretty much a way of life. If you're going to be out and using it consistently all day, load up with new batteries in the morning and take an extra set. I like this so much that I decided to order a replacement sponge (the one that comes with it advertised to last about a year). If you decide to use batteries you will find that the fan will only work at maximum capacity for about 15 minutes before your batteries start to drain and there is no longer that strong power that was originally there. Batteries are expensive when you're burning up 4 every 30 minutes to simply keep your fan going at an acceptable rate. I've recommended this to my sister-in-law who is planning for a trip to Mexico next month. Hot flashes go away.
I wanted to buy the adaptor that claims to give out more power, but when I bought mine last month but they were sold out, it's now in stock again so I'll be getting one now. My expectations were pretty high for this price point, and I am so far satisfied with this product. You have to keep it pretty close to you for you to feel the effects. It's surprising effective staying cool and especially good if you do not have a/c in your garage. My hot flashes come on about every 45 minutes, 24/7. I have been told by my doctors this can be expected for the next three years.
