Ozeri Ultra 42" Adjustable Oscillating Tower Fan - Consumer Reports Air Conditioners Review

By Lucas Long

Not too bad for a hand held little unit! I bought this for my trip to Miami and I love it.

I bought this fan because although I'm love the outdoors, my kids get pretty agitated by the heat. This handy cooler is a nice outdoor fan that you can bring around and constantly have a cool breeze with. The batteries last for a whole day if I conserve the batteries well enough by only running it when I need it. The cooling ability is good considering it's an evaporative cooler that is made so small. And the company has the gall to claim you're getting a $50 savings?! It's just another symptom of a society trying to get the most for the least. Otherwise, a great little mini air conditioner, that runs on batteries! I took this on my trip to Disneyworld in Florida and we are glad we bought this with us!

Otherwise there is no real breeze. At the highest setting it is also very loud with a high pitch whine. Once I got it, I was very satisfied with the product. It comes with a filter which is somewhat like a sponge. The battery lasts long and the USB cable that allows you to plug it into the computer is very handy too. Not only do I use it outdoors I also use it when I'm on the computer at home.

The unit has a sponge-material filter (which you need to wet) and after turning it on, it pulls air through the filter, cooling the air down before blowing it at you. It's a really cool concept.

But with the ingenious design that drags hot air through the wet cooling filter, it does a surprisingly good job. I bought the adaptor so I could plug it into the wall and this gives it even more power which is great. It's easy to pack and not heavy so you can bring it everywhere. If you use it at home, you can take out the batteries and plug in a USB cable that it comes with.

I would buy this fan again. If you want you can mist your face with a water filled spray bottle (for women, if you are not wearing makeup) and let the fan blow it dry. You can run it on batteries and they last a decent amount of time, but unless you have rechargeable ones, it's a hassle to keep on buying new ones. I bought this cooler and took it with me on a trip to the DR. After reading some of the reviews I decided to buy it and am very glad I did so. It's the perfect size (it was replacing small fan I bought from Costco that died on me).
