When all of us were children, we used to have sheets and blankets that resembled what we were into at that time. Kids just becoming football fans had their favorite team on a pillow and kids just learning their ABC's had their beds wrapped in sesame street kids bedding. Why not does the same exact thing as an adult? To me this seems like a fun thing to do with your spouse and it is truly harmless.
My college speech professor, who was 85 years old, told us of how he and his wife have stuffed animals on their bed instead of decorative pillows. This is fantastic to me. What is a stuffed animal but a fun-shaped pillow anyways? And your decorative pillows get put away every single night and re-brought out every morning anyways. That is just plain boring.
This is where kids bedding comes in to play. For more information on kids bedding, click here. Why does age matter? When I was a kid, I loved the Yankees, the Knicks, the Teenage Mutant Turtles, and the Power Rangers. Guess what: I had bedding for all 4 of those things. I had pinstripes, basketballs, turtles, and rangers, 4 different sets. Those were fun times that I still want to be having now.
If you're picking up what I'm putting down, you'll understand where I'm coming from. People cover themselves in tattoos with "meaning" all the time, whether it is an album cover of their favorite band or simply a Pittsburgh Steelers logo. If this is deemed acceptable, why isn't decorating your bedroom based on similar interests? If you want your bed to be a live action ESPN as a major sports fan, why not go for it?
What it comes down to is that kids bedding used to make going to sleep a happy event. Now every time adults go to sleep they have to remove all of these decorative pillows into a hamper (or for some people just throw them on the floor in frustration). Then they have to remake the bed and re-design it every morning. Wouldn't it be more fun to do that if you were putting 4 pillows designed after the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on your bed in a row? Tell the naysayers to lighten up. Have fun with your bed again and preserve a little bit of your childhood!
